Scrap of Steel wire rope for Mining

The scrap of mining wire rope should be carried out in strict accordance with the scrap requirements of Coal Mine Safety Regulations.

The main factors that decrease the strength of hoisting steel wire rope in mine are wear, rust and fatigue breaking. In general, these three factors appear and act simultaneously. The following points should be noted in the selection of mining lifting wire rope:

(1) When used in the shaft with large drainage and high pH, galvanized steel wire rope should be selected due to serious corrosion, and hot-dip galvanized steel wire rope should be used as far as possible, because the corrosion resistance of hot-dip galvanized steel wire rope is much better than that of cold plating (electro galvanized). Now the electric galvanizing is not as good as the corrosion resistance of oil.

(2) In the mine with serious wear, it is better to choose the thick line contact round strand and special-shaped strand wire rope or surface contact wire rope of the outer steel wire. Typical structure: 6*26SW, 6*31SW, 6*36SW, 4V*48S, 6V*39S, 6*K36SW

(3) With fatigue broken wire as the main cause of wire rope damage, the wire contact wire rope with small diameter difference between the inner and outer layers can be selected (which is better with filling type) or special-shaped wire rope. 6*25Fi, 6*29Fi, 4V, 6V triangle wire rope is good.

(4) It is better to lay the steel wire rope in the same direction for mine lifting. ZZ right hand twist, SS left hand twist

(5) Multi-layer non-rotating steel wire rope should be selected for shaft lifting. 18* 7,35 W*7. 18*7 is recommended for small specifications, because the operation is not standard, and the wire rope will not be scrapped due to stress. (6) Rope with metal core can be used for lifting gangue hills with high temperature or open fire. There are generally two kinds of steel core, single strand steel core IWS: 1* 7,1 *19, 1*37,7*7 wire rope as a steel core: IWRC. The flexibility and tension of IWRC are better.

(7) It is best to use full locked cables and non-rotating wire rope for guides. If other types of steel wire rope are selected, galvanized steel wire rope is appropriate. This is also hot dip galvanized wire rope.

The practice has proved that the damage of wire rope used in shaft is mainly caused by fatigue wire breakage and corrosion, and wear is secondary.

Wear and rust are the main factors for damage of wire rope used in inclined shaft. For the mine with serious corrosion, corrosion and wear promote each other.
